About the Role
We are in search of an Air Vehicle Conceptual Design Engineer to help shape the future of autonomy-native aircraft. This role demands a departure from traditional aircraft design, focusing instead on coordinated fleets that prioritize collaboration, communication, and mission flexibility.
As a part of our team, you will investigate innovative aircraft architectures, create initial design concepts, and develop platforms tailored for swarm operations, maritime integration, and distributed autonomy.
This position sits at the crossroads of aerospace design, systems thinking, and the architecture of autonomy-driven platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Concept Generation & Aircraft Architecture
Invent unique aircraft designs that enhance collaborative autonomy and swarm functionality.
Investigate non-traditional airframe configurations suited for multi-vehicle mission objectives.
Assess the tradeoffs among platform performance, autonomy prerequisites, and fleet-level capabilities.
Early-Stage Design & Modeling
Generate quick design iterations through sketches, parametric modeling, and digital prototyping.
Perform initial aerodynamic and configuration trade analyses.
Convert conceptual visions into viable aircraft architectures.
Maritime & Operational Integration
Engineer aircraft designed for maritime deployment, recovery, and operational contexts.
Integrate communication frameworks that support mesh-native and distributed autonomous systems.
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration
Collaborate closely with fellow engineers and advanced development teams to refine concepts into detailed architectures.
Ensure alignment of aircraft concepts with autonomy and collaborative mission goals.
