Position Summary
The Aircraft Safety and Quality Assurance Inspector reports directly to the Safety and Quality Assurance Manager. This critical role ensures that the organization adheres to applicable Civil Aviation Regulations (RAC), approved maintenance procedures, and client contractual requirements. The position fosters continuous improvement through systematic internal audits, thorough inspections, and proactive risk identification, thereby contributing to a robust Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Assurance (QA) framework.
This role may require periodic travel to operational sites for audits or to represent the Safety & Quality Assurance department during external inspections and regulatory audits.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct internal audits and in-depth assessments of maintenance, operational, and safety systems in compliance with Transport Canada’s RAC Subparts 573 and 706 and related standards.
Ensure compliance with the Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM), the Maintenance Control Manual (MCM), the Quality Assurance program, and the company’s SMS framework.
Document audit results, prepare technical reports, and ensure timely follow-up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Act as a liaison with base managers, technical personnel, and regulatory authorities to promote best practices in safety and quality.
Support investigations and root cause analyses related to safety and quality issues, non-conformities, and internal events.
Contribute actively to the continuous development and enhancement of processes, procedures, and training programs related to QA and SMS.
Maintain a high standard of impartiality, confidentiality, and technical integrity in all QA/SMS-related activities.
