At Perplexity, we are creating the next-generation answer engine that empowers users to discover information more effectively. Our headquarters is located in San Francisco, and we operate on a hybrid schedule with in-office days on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop core data models to enhance analysis efficiency, delivering rapid and dependable insights for various teams.
Establish and promote data modeling standards and best practices using tools such as dbt.
Enhance data team productivity by refining tools, automating workflows, and optimizing processes.
Take charge of tooling selection decisions, weighing the options between building and purchasing while managing vendor relationships as needed.
Collaborate closely with Data Scientists to ensure that analytics requirements are comprehensively understood and implemented.
Create and maintain essential dashboards and reports to monitor business health and facilitate informed decision-making.
Lead data governance initiatives, ensuring that security, compliance, and quality standards are consistently upheld.
Qualifications
6-8+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, data science, or a closely related field.
Expertise in SQL.
Proficient in data modeling techniques, including dimensional modeling and analytics engineering best practices.
Experience developing high-impact dashboards and visualizations using BI tools such as Omni, Mode, Hex, Looker, or similar.
Prior experience in dynamic, fast-growing environments.
Ability to work independently, managing projects from concept through execution with minimal supervision.
Bonus Skills
Familiarity with dbt.
Comfortable using Python.
Experience with Snowflake administration and optimization.
