Salary Range: $95,000 - $140,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Work Location: Hybrid remote/in-office (see onsite requirements below).
**On-Site Requirements: This role requires on-site presence at Patuxent River, MD, for two to four days each month. Future onsite/telework schedules may be adjusted based on client needs.
Job Overview: The Application Database Administrator will be instrumental in supporting Airworthiness and Flight Clearance systems, focusing on maintaining database integrity, performance, and security across Oracle and SQL Server platforms. This role encompasses designing, developing, and optimizing database solutions while collaborating closely with developers, IT teams, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize Toad and SQL Server Management Console for performance tuning.
- Create data models and Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs).
- Write and optimize SQL and PL/SQL for Oracle and SQL Server.
- Assess and enhance procedures and queries for improved performance.
- Implement database constraints, foreign keys, primary keys, and indexes.
- Oversee version control and deployment processes using GitLab.
- Ensure database security through practices such as SQL injection mitigation, Label Security, Column Security, and STIG compliance.
- Assist in migrating systems from on-premises to cloud/serverless technologies.
- Employ dynamic SQL and metadata-driven techniques to streamline coding tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to achieve project goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Proven experience in designing and developing Oracle and SQL Server databases for application backends.
- Strong understanding of Oracle RDBMS concepts.
- Expertise in performance tuning and query optimization.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and compliance standards, including application STIGs.
- Familiarity with cloud services (preferably AWS) and experience with migration from on-premises to serverless environments.
- Proficiency in using Toad for Oracle and SQL Server Management Studio.
