As the Assistant Manager (AM) at Burger King, you will play a pivotal role in leading the restaurant’s operations with a focus on profitability, outstanding guest service, employee development, and effective operations management. You'll work alongside the Restaurant General Manager (RGM) to oversee daily operations, ensuring that key performance metrics are achieved. Reporting to the RGM, you will manage a dedicated team of 20-45 Hourly Shift Coordinators and Team Members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Profitability: Manage inventory costs by conducting daily, weekly, and monthly inspections. Place and receive inventory truck orders, and maintain an up-to-date list of all restaurant assets. Ensure preventative maintenance of the restaurant facility and equipment aligns with company standards, including liaising with external vendors as necessary. Uphold cash control and security procedures, ensuring safe counting and cash drawer management.
- Guest Experience: Inspire and guide team members to exceed guest expectations through prompt, friendly service in a well-maintained facility.
- People Development: Provide coaching and constructive feedback to Shift Coordinators and Team Members to enhance team capabilities and performance.
- Operations Management: Lead the restaurant team to ensure the efficient and accurate preparation and sale of products, adhering to established speed of service guidelines, while maintaining operational and brand standards.
- Perform the duties of Hourly Shift Coordinator when required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- High School Diploma or GED required; 2 years of college education preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in a quick service restaurant environment; management experience is a plus.
- Basic understanding of P&L management to influence profitability.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Strong grasp of guest service principles.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Flexibility to work long and/or irregular shifts as needed for restaurant operations.
