Job Description
The Assistant Manager of Entertainment Show Quality plays a pivotal role in nurturing and enhancing the artistic vision of entertainment across Universal Studios Hollywood. This position is responsible for providing constructive feedback and insights on existing entertainment elements and performers while assisting in the development of new entertainment characters and elements as needed. Responsibilities include casting selections, conducting rehearsals, collaborating with designers, coordinating movements, and overseeing projects throughout their operational phases. As the Assistant Manager, you will ensure that all entertainment offerings align with the USH brand identity, reporting directly to the Manager of Entertainment Show Quality.
1. Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and uphold the Universal Studios Hollywood vision, mission, values, and Guest Service Philosophy across all levels of the organization.
- Foster a department culture that emphasizes professionalism, collaboration, inspiration, enjoyment, and teamwork among all team members.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of operational processes across all entertainment products and effectively communicate feedback and concerns to relevant stakeholders, including the Manager and Entertainment Operations team.
- Ensure the operational efficiency and effectiveness of administrative tasks, venue/show areas, and associated elements. Proactively resolve issues and seek opportunities for process improvements in collaboration with Entertainment Production and Operations.
- Provide guidance, development, and support to dance captains, trainers, seasonal supervisors, and team members. Offer constructive feedback and address performance issues while recognizing achievements.
- Participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety responsibilities by adhering to established USH policies, procedures, training, and employee involvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with other department leaders and stakeholders within the park.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
2. Job Duties:
- Consistently communicate and uphold creative and performance standards through regular observation of assigned portfolios, necessitating a continual presence in the park to monitor sets and shows.
- Maintain the creative intent and performance standards through both written and verbal feedback, which includes performance notes and evaluations.
- Possess knowledge of and maintain show quality across all entertainment products, relaying any concerns or feedback to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Conduct regular assessments of performers to ensure adherence to quality standards and provide actionable feedback.
