Position Objective:
The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager with the overall management of sales, operations, asset protection, and human resources to ensure an exceptional customer experience and drive profitability.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Creates weekly staff schedules to guarantee optimal floor coverage while adhering to budgetary guidelines; reviews and submits payroll documentation for accuracy.
- Enhances customer service by ensuring team members are actively engaging with customers; addresses customer questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Oversees team members involved in sales, inventory management, cash reconciliation, and customer service.
- Demonstrates sales objectives by employing various techniques and sharing product knowledge with customers; assists customers in selecting or locating merchandise based on their preferences.
- Ensures the store is visually appealing by maintaining high standards in housekeeping, visual merchandising, and organization.
- Trains team members on visual merchandising practices to guarantee the store remains well-presented.
- Monitors team performance and productivity; provides recognition and constructive feedback to associates; motivates and trains team members to reach their full potential.
- Manages all financial transactions effectively, adhering to company policies including cash handling, price adjustments, and merchandise processing.
- Oversees inventory processes including receiving, replenishment, and conducting physical inventory counts.
- Facilitates the smooth operation of the store, ensuring it is well-maintained and safe for both customers and employees.
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws, loss prevention policies, and operational procedures; conducts training for associates to reinforce compliance.
- Assists in the recruitment, hiring, and training of store associates; analyzes key performance indicators and provides coaching as necessary; collaborates with the Store Manager for associate evaluations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
