Join the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) as an Assistant Supervisor, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the economic lives of New Yorkers. This position may permit remote work for up to 2 days per week as part of our Remote Work Pilot Program. DCWP is dedicated to licensing nearly 45,000 businesses across over 40 industries, enforcing critical consumer protection and workplace laws, and fostering a culture of compliance. Your contributions will empower consumers and working families with necessary tools and resources for financial health and work-life balance. Engage with our community through research and advocacy for public policies that support New York City’s neighborhoods.
As an Assistant Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the Supervisor in their absence;
- Assisting in the coordination of projects and daily operations;
- Supporting the implementation of new laws, policies, and procedures;
- Collaborating to troubleshoot system issues and promoting online licensing services;
- Monitoring team performance, assigning and reviewing tasks, and addressing issues proactively;
- Processing and tracking license applications received via various methods;
- Ensuring policy compliance through consistent quality checks;
- Managing routine payment processing and calculations;
- Delivering exceptional customer service in-person, online, and via phone;
- Coordinating with internal teams and external partners for efficient application processing;
- Providing backup support to Licensing team members as required;
- Adhering to all division and agency policies and completing assigned licensing tasks.
