Job Summary:
The Associate Dean for Academic Programs at the Radcliffe Institute plays a pivotal role in shaping educational initiatives and interdisciplinary collaboration across the Institute's four primary program departments: Academic Ventures & Engagement (AV&E), the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP), the Radcliffe Fellowship Program (FP), and the Schlesinger Library (SL). Reporting directly to the Dean, this position requires a dynamic leader who can foster partnerships and engage with the broader Harvard community to ensure that these programs align with institutional goals and promote transformative scholarship across various fields, including arts, humanities, sciences, social sciences, and professional studies.
Job-Specific Responsibilities:
- Act as a proactive manager and collaborator, working closely with the Dean and senior leadership to devise and execute policies, practices, and strategic programmatic initiatives that further the mission of the Institute.
- Utilize strong problem-solving abilities and operational expertise to drive strategic priorities effectively.
- Oversee program directors, ensuring alignment of departmental initiatives with the Institute's objectives and timelines.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with leadership at HRI, cross-school partners, and Harvard faculty members.
- Co-manage the Faculty Advisory Council, facilitating agenda setting with members appointed by the Dean.
- Serve as an ambassador for Radcliffe within the University, developing collaborative relationships across Harvard’s schools and enhancing the Institute’s contributions to university-wide initiatives.
- Lead cross-Institute student engagement initiatives, including oversight of the Student Advisory Board, student communications, and events.
- Work with the Dean and colleagues to implement best practices for cultivating an inclusive campus environment.
- Collaborate with finance teams on budgeting and long-term planning aligned with strategic goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise direct reports, including the Institute’s program executive directors and members of the Academic Programs team.
