AECOM is on the lookout for an Associate Director in Civil Engineering to spearhead technical excellence across various projects for our data centre clients. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities, from site due diligence assessments and master planning to detailed design and construction support. Your contributions will be pivotal in fostering business growth, nurturing client relationships, and advancing AECOM's civil engineering capabilities within the data centre sector.
As a vital member of our Civil Engineering Business Unit, you will collaborate with ground engineers, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, process engineers, architects, project managers, environmental specialists, and surveyors both in the UK and globally. Together, we will support an array of data centre projects.
In the Data Centres Market Sector, you will serve as an ambassador for AECOM across EMEA and within AECOM Europe and globally. Your civil engineering expertise will play a crucial role in delivering projects for major technology clients, ensuring technical excellence and seamless integration across disciplines. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams in the UK and globally to bolster AECOM's standing in the Hyperscale and Co-location data centre markets.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical leadership and design governance for data centre and critical infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to AECOM standards and regulatory requirements.
- Leading, reviewing, and approving civil engineering infrastructure designs and specifications, crafting feasible solutions for site development, earthworks, drainage, pavements, access, utility infrastructure, and associated civil engineering works for data centres.
- Coordinating with other civil engineers and technical specialists to ensure the successful delivery of our data centre project portfolio, collaborating with ground, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineers, project managers, architects and environmental consultants across the UK and our global network.
- Engaging with clients, supporting business development, conducting asset reviews, and formulating strategies for expansion or upgrades, all while mentoring and developing civil engineers to enhance AECOM’s technical capabilities within the Data Centres sector.
