The Associate Director of Market Development is a pivotal commercial leader tasked with enhancing national sales performance for our dermatology psoriatic franchise. This role involves crafting strategic frameworks for field execution and ensuring operational excellence throughout the U.S. Dermatology sales organization. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales, you will influence national strategy, support regional leadership, and drive impactful field execution for one of AbbVie’s top franchises.
Position Overview
The Associate Director of Market Development acts as a vital link between national strategies and field operations. You will lead operational alignment, pinpoint performance opportunities, manage national initiatives, and collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, Market Access, Analytics, and Training teams to ensure our Dermatology team achieves exceptional and sustainable outcomes.
As a key thought partner to the Head of Sales, you will effectively influence regional and district managers, ensuring that national priorities are translated into clear, consistent, and impactful actions in the field.
Key Responsibilities
National Sales Leadership
- Execute the national sales strategy for AbbVie’s Dermatology psoriatic franchise, ensuring alignment with the Head of Sales, Marketing, and broader Immunology leadership.
- Identify performance trends, growth opportunities, and operational inefficiencies across regions to drive targeted interventions.
- Partner with Regional Sales Directors to guarantee consistent brand strategy execution and field excellence across all regions.
Field Performance & Operational Excellence
- Oversee the development and management of national sales performance dashboards, KPIs, and reporting in collaboration with Analytics and Sales Operations.
- Create national playbooks and performance standards to foster clarity and consistency in sales execution.
- Lead regular business reviews with regional and district leadership to evaluate performance and strategize improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison between the field sales organization and essential cross-functional partners (Marketing, Market Access, Training, and Reimbursement).
- Convert customer, competitive, and field insights into actionable recommendations for brand and commercial strategy teams.
- Support payer pull-through initiatives in collaboration with Market Access to ensure optimal product adoption.
