About Primary
Primary is an innovative seed-stage venture capital firm committed to empowering founders of transformative businesses. By combining substantial investment resources with the most extensive portfolio impact team among seed investors, our portfolio companies achieve an unparalleled seed-to-A graduation rate.
The firm’s incubation division, Primary Labs, was established in 2019 to facilitate the ideation, research, and launch of new startups. Our first three incubated companies are projected to yield returns that will significantly exceed the initial fund, positioning Primary for remarkable expansion within our incubation initiatives.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated full-time Associate to join Primary Labs, with a specific emphasis on healthcare incubation opportunities. This position is available to candidates based in New York who are open to working in-person in NoMad at least three days a week.
Our focus is on identifying incubation opportunities that will transform essential operating systems in healthcare—revamping core processes, workflows, and data infrastructure that have remained stagnant for decades. This role is tailored for an individual with a robust analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, eager to dissect intricate systems, forge valuable partnerships, pinpoint inefficiencies, and help conceptualize a modern, software-driven healthcare infrastructure.
Alongside in-depth research and incubation activities, this position will actively engage in nurturing relationships throughout the healthcare ecosystem—connecting with operators, founders, technologists, and strategic partners to uncover insights and generate new incubation prospects. You will collaborate closely with the Primary Labs team to research, model, and critically analyze ideas at the nexus of healthcare operations, technology, and data, leveraging your network to help shape and validate concepts that may evolve into the next generation of companies in this sector.
