We are seeking a motivated Audience Editor to join our newsroom Audience team. This role will collaborate with various desks to expand our readership and deepen engagement with our audience.
The Audience Editor will play a vital role in shaping both daily and long-term coverage by suggesting relevant stories and evergreen topics, with a keen focus on framing. They will enhance distribution through effective search strategies, social programming, and internal pitches for the homepage, newsletters, and alerts. This position will primarily focus on working with the Washington desks and other teams focused on elections, politics, and more. Based on strategic needs, the editor may also be assigned to cover additional desks.
This position is based in our Washington, D.C. office, requiring regular in-office attendance four days a week, with potential flexibility for remote work per departmental guidelines. Occasional travel to New York may also be necessary.
