Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented Auto Body Technician to become a vital member of our team at CSN Champlain. The ideal candidate will possess the expertise to assess and restore vehicles that have sustained damage, bringing them back to their original structural integrity, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze damage reports and repair estimates, planning the necessary work accordingly.
- Conduct thorough inspections of collision damage, checking all vehicle exterior components and functional accessories to identify any hidden damages early in the repair process.
- Execute comprehensive body repairs: Repair or replace front end components, body panels, doors, frames, and underbody parts as needed.
- Utilize specialized equipment to straighten bent frames and repair dents and defects.
- Perform welding tasks with MIG welders and spot welders as required.
- Dismantle damaged areas of the vehicle to uncover hidden damages, replacing parts and repairing windows as necessary.
- Skillfully file, grind, and sand surfaces using both power and hand tools.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by masking and taping, applying primers, and repainting as needed.
- Use soldering equipment and plastic fillers to repair holes, dents, and seams.
- Restore vehicles to factory specifications through meticulous attention to detail.
