We are on the lookout for a talented Machine Vision Systems Engineer to contribute significantly to the design, development, and implementation of state-of-the-art machine vision systems.
Your Role:
As an Automation Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of bespoke machine vision systems within various industrial automation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all systems comply with technical specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements. This position demands close collaboration with engineering teams, vendors, and clients to deliver high-quality, production-ready solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage with customers and sales leadership to define project scopes for machine vision initiatives.
Conceptualize, design, and validate technical specifications and bills of materials for automation and machine vision systems.
Design and develop electrical and mechanical solutions for automation projects.
Program, test, and troubleshoot PLCs, preferably Siemens.
Work with industrial robots and collaborative robots (Fanuc, Franka), including programming and troubleshooting.
Oversee equipment assessment, ordering, and verification, ensuring hardware and software meet customer needs.
Ensure designs meet Catalyx and industry standards and all specified requirements.
Support development, testing, and installation phases, ensuring systems are production-ready and meet design specifications.
Act as the primary technical contact for automation design, providing guidance on risk evaluation and technical issues.
Participate in our SLA support team on a rotating weekly schedule to assist customers.
Meet with vendors to confirm component selections and stay updated on new technologies in machine vision and automation systems.
Analyze existing procedures, propose improvements, and assist in creating design and technical documentation.
Occasionally develop and troubleshoot machine vision systems (Cognex).
