Job Summary
The Aviation Safety and Quality Assurance Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring that our organization adheres to all relevant Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs), company-approved maintenance protocols, and client contract specifications. This position is pivotal in driving continuous improvements through regular internal audits, thorough inspections, and proactive identification of potential risks, thereby reinforcing our Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Assurance (QA) framework.
Periodic travel to operational sites may be necessary for conducting audits or representing the Safety & Quality Assurance Department during external evaluations and regulatory assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed internal audits and assessments of maintenance, operational, and safety systems, in accordance with Transport Canada CARs Subparts 573, 706, and related standards.
- Report directly to the Safety and Quality Assurance Manager.
- Ensure adherence to the company’s Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM), Maintenance Control Manual (MCM), Quality Assurance Program, and SMS framework.
- Document audit results, prepare technical reports, and ensure prompt follow-up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with base managers, technical staff, and regulatory bodies to advocate for safety and quality best practices.
- Assist in investigating and performing root cause analysis on safety and quality concerns, non-conformities, and internal incidents.
- Contribute actively to the ongoing development and improvement of QA and SMS processes, procedures, and training initiatives.
- Uphold a high standard of impartiality, confidentiality, and technical integrity throughout all QA/SMS activities.
