Position Overview
As a Screening Officer at SGS, you will play a pivotal role in executing comprehensive background checks and employment screenings, adhering to both internal protocols and client specifications while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Your primary responsibilities will include verifying candidate CVs, conducting thorough employment and educational checks, and performing various integrity screenings, all while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance throughout the process.
This operational role demands a keen attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, a commitment to ethical standards, and the ability to manage multiple cases concurrently.
Key Responsibilities
Background Screening & Verifications
- Perform end-to-end background checks, including:
- Employment history validation
- Verification of educational qualifications
- Analysis of CV consistency and identification of gaps
- Conducting reference checks
- Identity verification
- Public records and open-source checks as necessary
- Ensure information is validated using credible sources and established methodologies and tools.
- Identify and document discrepancies, red flags, or inconsistencies clearly.
Case Management & Reporting
- Oversee multiple screening cases simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
- Produce clear, structured, and factual screening reports.
- Ensure all findings are evidence-based, objective, and defensible.
- Escalate potential risks or concerns to management as necessary.
Compliance & Data Protection
- Ensure full compliance with:
- Data protection regulations (GDPR or equivalent)
- Internal information security policies (aligned with ISO 27001)
- All relevant compliance requirements
- Handle sensitive personal data with the utmost confidentiality.
- Follow established processes for data storage, access control, and retention.
Client & Internal Coordination
- Collaborate with internal teams to clarify screening requirements.
- Professionally follow up with candidates or third parties for verification purposes.
- Maintain accurate case records and audit trails.
