Job Overview
ROLE PURPOSE
The Bar Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing all bar operations to establish the Best Corner Bar in Town. This role involves developing a highly efficient team of bartenders who consistently deliver speedy service and expertly crafted mixed beverages. The Bar Manager is dedicated to providing an exceptional guest experience while ensuring responsible alcohol service. Key responsibilities include managing beverage costs, production, labor, and maintaining beverage quality. The Bar Manager will also enhance profits by implementing local marketing strategies that effectively attract guests.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Drive sales through local marketing initiatives as outlined in operational guidelines.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements to enhance sales and control costs; develop and execute strategic plans to capitalize on these opportunities.
- Stay informed about competitive bar initiatives to maintain a competitive edge.
- Collaborate with bartenders and key staff to promote local events and special promotions.
- People Development: Recruit, train, and nurture team members through regular feedback and performance reviews, setting clear performance expectations.
- Ensure that new hires complete their training plans, including requisite paperwork.
- Foster a positive work environment and lead by example in professional conduct.
- Maintain an accurate and updated staffing plan. Prepare schedules to ensure adequate staffing for all shifts.
- Oversee daily operations during shifts, including decision-making, staff support, guest interaction, and maintaining cleanliness and product quality.
- Proactively manage shifts by anticipating guest needs and addressing any concerns.
- Engage with guests to ensure they receive the Fridays Service Style experience, following up on any issues or feedback.
- Operations and Systems: Ensure beverage quality through high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Monitor bar operations closely and address any discrepancies promptly.
- Handle purchasing, receiving, and storing of beverage products, ensuring proper inventory management to minimize waste.
- Understand and implement preventive maintenance for bar equipment.
