As a Behavior Technician, you will deliver direct behavior therapy services to individuals diagnosed with autism and collaborate within a multidisciplinary treatment team. Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in Cortica’s comprehensive paid orientation and successfully complete the Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT) training.
- Deliver direct behavior-analytic services to children with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental conditions in both individual and group environments.
- Implement positive behavioral strategies developed in partnership with the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Apply tactics such as antecedent and consequence strategies based on tailored treatment plans.
- Provide hands-on support in various settings including home, community, school, clinic, or other designated areas, directly delivering behavior-analytic care according to the child’s assessment and treatment plan.
- Complete all necessary documentation, including data collection on strategies and goals, and session notes during each session.
- Assist in personalized assessment procedures through preference assessments and data collection.
- Collaborate with families and supervisors to foster an environment conducive to treatment and education across all care settings.
- Adhere to Cortica's crisis and emergency protocols, including de-escalation techniques and mandated reporting.
- Represent the Cortica Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program professionally in all interactions, maintaining high standards in both written and verbal communication, as well as personal presentation.
- Engage in physical activities required for the role, including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; accommodations will be provided for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- Team members may occasionally need to lift up to 50 pounds.
