Job Summary
The Bindery Operator is essential to the final stages of the printing process, responsible for tasks such as wrapping, padding, stitching, and packaging printed materials. This role ensures that products are transformed into finished goods ready for shipment, utilizing both machinery and manual techniques. You will also process products through a tracking system and prepare packages for distribution.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
- Operate bindery equipment including stitchers, drills, padders, strappers, and shrink wrap machines. 15%
- Manage and process all necessary paperwork efficiently. 10%
- Verify quality and accuracy of printed products by proofreading and comparing them against the run header sheet. Ensure correctness of names, numbers, and statements. 15%
- Construct boxes as needed, place orders inside, insert any required flyers, label, and seal the boxes. 20%
- Scan boxed orders into the system using FedEx, UPS, or USPS, and print labels accordingly. 20%
- Match printout labels to boxed labels to confirm accuracy, placing labeled boxes onto pallets. 15%
- Prepare skids of products for shipment per customer requirements and assist in loading trucks. 5%
- Coordinate with truck line brokers for truckload and LTL shipments, preparing all relevant paperwork. 5%
- Handle international mail processing and necessary documentation. 5%
- Maintain a clean and stocked workstation. Additional duties as assigned. 5%
