Opportunity Overview
Each project presents distinct challenges; however, typical tasks include:
- Designing innovative computational biology problems that replicate authentic biology research workflows;
- Creating Python programming challenges to solve problems (utilizing Numpy, SciPy, BioPython);
- Ensuring tasks are computationally demanding and cannot be resolved manually within practical timeframes (days/weeks);
- Developing problems that necessitate complex reasoning in bioinformatics, systems biology, and molecular modeling;
- Drawing upon real research challenges or applicable scenarios from the field of biology;
- Validating solutions using Python with standard computational biology libraries;
- Clearly documenting problem statements and providing verified correct answers.
Desired Profile
This role is ideal for biology experts with Python experience who are open to part-time, non-permanent engagements. The preferred candidates will possess:
- A degree in Biology or a related field;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; knowledge of MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, and domain-specific libraries is also acceptable;
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in applied, research, or teaching roles;
- Experience with biological data analysis and algorithms;
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and computational methodologies;
- Strong written English skills (C1+ level).
Application Process
Apply → Pass qualifications → Join a project → Complete tasks → Get compensated.
Time Commitment
For this project, expect tasks to require approximately 10–20 hours per week during peak activity phases, contingent on project demands. This estimate is not a guaranteed workload and applies solely while the project is active.
