We are seeking a motivated Business Analyst who will engage with business customers to define and analyze process flows within our operations. The ideal candidate will gather business requirements, create comprehensive business documentation, conduct system testing, and support QA testing efforts. A solid understanding of the Joint Application Development (JAD) process is essential, as the BA will enhance user participation, expedite development, and refine the quality of specifications.
The Business Analyst will serve as a critical liaison between customers and technical solution/support teams to identify business processes and design effective solutions for various business challenges.
The successful candidate will analyze both business and user needs, documenting specifications that address these needs and identifying data collection strategies to enhance various systems.
Responsibilities include conducting user testing to ensure functionality prior to implementation and mentoring junior Business Analysts on the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and document detailed business requirements in a traceable, testable format.
- Apply use cases to fully understand the functionality of proposed system changes.
- Evaluate existing data and systems for their support of strategic and operational goals.
- Document data systems with use cases to support key business processes and establish performance measures.
- Develop a roadmap for future state implementation.
- Identify integration opportunities with other enterprise systems.
- Facilitate JAD sessions, providing detailed agendas to clarify uncertainties and prevent miscommunication.
- Establish project objectives, limitations, deliverables, and critical success factors during JAD sessions.
- Develop and execute system test plans.
- Define workflows for all assigned projects.
- Create specifications for dashboards and reports as per business sponsor requirements.
- Develop data requirements and Data Dictionaries.
- Collaborate with Database Reporting to identify data sharing and delivery methods.
- Work closely with IT Managers involved in projects.
- Assist business users in identifying business rules for functional specifications.
Exposure to modeling techniques such as Unified Modeling Language (UML) and integrated business process modeling is preferred. Knowledge of business process improvements and efficiencies is essential.
