As the Business Development Manager - Aluminum, you will be at the forefront of market and customer development in the aluminum manufacturing and processing sector. Your primary responsibility will be to spearhead strategic growth initiatives within this domain, collaborating closely with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) to ensure our services and capabilities meet the evolving demands of the market.
This dynamic role integrates market research, strategic sales development, content creation, and customer engagement to enhance our foothold in the aluminum market. You will serve as a subject matter expert and an internal advocate for the aluminum industry.
Industry Development Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth market research to pinpoint key players, trends, challenges, and opportunities within the aluminum sector.
- Craft strategic sales and marketing plans that cater to the unique requirements and purchasing behaviors of the aluminum industry.
- Keep abreast of competitor activities and market changes to ensure our value proposition remains distinctive and compelling.
Sales Strategy & Support Functions
- Work alongside RSMs to identify and target key accounts within their designated territories.
- Assist RSMs in customer engagement, opportunity identification, and proposal development.
- Participate in customer meetings and site visits (both in-person and virtual) as the recognized industry expert.
- Lead initiatives to qualify and pursue significant or strategic accounts in the aluminum sector.
Collateral & Content Development Initiatives
- Create aluminum-specific sales collateral, including presentations, case studies, white papers, and proposal templates.
- Tailor our core offerings to address the operational, maintenance, and reliability challenges faced by the aluminum industry.
- Provide training to RSMs and other commercial team members on industry best practices, key value drivers, and common objections.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Serve as the voice of the aluminum customer by relaying feedback to operations, engineering, and marketing teams.
- Collaborate with service and technical teams to innovate new offerings or refine existing ones based on aluminum market demand.
- Support trade shows, industry events, and marketing campaigns as a subject matter expert and brand representative.
