The Business Development Manager - Energy Management plays a crucial role in accelerating revenue growth and fostering strategic commercial partnerships in key sectors of the energy industry. This position is essential in connecting technology with energy markets and infrastructure development. We are in search of an exemplary candidate who possesses extensive industry knowledge—gained through leadership roles in consultative services, commercial real estate, or facilities management—and a proven track record of successfully managing complex commercial alliances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities for Hubgrade energy management solutions across diverse facility types, including commercial real estate, educational campuses, industrial sectors, utility providers, public institutions, and healthcare organizations.
- Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives to meet revenue goals and enhance market presence.
- Communicate compelling value propositions that emphasize improved utility cost recovery, reduced carbon emissions, enhanced tenant satisfaction, minimized unexpected repairs, increased operational efficiency, and time savings.
- Establish and nurture relationships with prominent decision-makers, including facility managers, energy directors, CFOs, and sustainability leaders.
- Collaborate with technical teams to create tailored solutions that utilize various data sources (utility meters, tenant submeters, chillers, boilers, renewable energy sources, occupancy sensors) and integration methods (Modbus, BACnet, API, CSV, SFTP).
- Prepare and present proposals, contracts, and presentations that effectively demonstrate return on investment (ROI) and quantifiable outcomes.
- Remain informed on the latest trends in energy management, sustainability regulations, Energy Star standards, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reporting practices.
- Manage the sales pipeline and keep accurate records in the CRM system.
- Meet quarterly and annual sales targets.
Work Environment:
- This position is based in Boston.
- This is a hybrid role requiring a mix of in-office work and in-person meetings with potential clients.
