The New York Times is seeking a skilled, dynamic, and adaptable reporter to become part of our Business team, focusing on business and economics within the Asia-Pacific region. This role emphasizes coverage of corporations, trade, economics, and markets throughout Asia, with a significant focus on China due to its pivotal role in the regional and global economy. The position entails producing a comprehensive array of news and in-depth articles while also contributing to video content, graphics, newsletters, and audio segments that illuminate and clarify key narratives.
We are in search of an enthusiastic journalist who relishes beat reporting and excels in pursuing the most compelling and significant stories. While the coverage will primarily center on Asia, there will be a strong emphasis on narratives that resonate on a broader scale, necessitating collaboration with correspondents worldwide. Responsibilities will include writing news articles, follow-up pieces, analyses, explanations, and enterprise reports. You will engage with various desks and teams, including International, Breaking News, Video, and Graphics, producing articles, live updates, newsletters, and participating in collaborative reporting initiatives.
This role will be situated in the APAC region, and specific location details will be discussed with the recruiter during the interview process. The position reports to the Asia Business Editor.
