As a Business Unit Leader for our Paper Mill Operations, you will play a crucial role in driving our manufacturing excellence. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on professional to oversee end-to-end production operations across multiple shifts in our paper mill business unit. You will manage a workforce of over 100 employees, including 7 to 10 direct reports, ensuring a focus on safety, quality, delivery, cost efficiency, and team morale, all while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations for the business unit over multiple shifts, establishing priorities and allocating resources effectively to meet production goals.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, engineers, and technicians to build a robust and high-performance workforce.
- Oversee key performance indicator (KPI) metrics, including OEE, yield, waste, uptime, throughput, safety, and quality; identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Promote Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and project management practices to achieve sustained continuous improvement across the paper manufacturing processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards; advocate for a zero-injury workplace culture.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, supply chain, and technical teams to optimize operational efficiency and product performance.
- Plan and execute capital and productivity projects, managing budgets and timelines effectively.
- Standardize best practices and implement visual management and tiered daily management routines.
