The Role
As a Cannabis Flower Technician at Greenthumb Industries, you will be responsible for various plant maintenance tasks aimed at fostering the robust growth of premium cannabis flowers for our patients and customers to enjoy. Given the highly regulated nature of the cannabis industry, adherence to safety protocols and compliance measures is mandatory for all team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute plant maintenance tasks such as defoliation, pruning, and skirting, requiring manual dexterity and precision.
- Achieve production targets while maintaining exceptional performance standards.
- Adhere to work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) specific to the department.
- Identify various cannabis strains, understand their growth requirements, patterns, and detect any plant anomalies.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment while fulfilling individual responsibilities.
Safety & Compliance
- Stay vigilant about potential hazards in the workplace.
- Comprehend and retain training specific to departmental safety protocols.
- Report any safety incidents or concerns and comply with necessary follow-up actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements, state regulations, and personal protective equipment (PPE) mandates.
- Follow good manufacturing practices (GMP), biosecurity measures, sanitation, and other quality compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate record-keeping as instructed by supervisors.
- Calibrate and maintain tools and equipment as directed by team leads.
- Report and escalate any safety or quality concerns promptly.
Working Conditions
- Regularly perform tasks involving reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods while maintaining concentration.
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying, and balancing up to 50 pounds (100 pounds with assistance) with utmost care.
- Work in environments exceeding 85 degrees Fahrenheit with 70% humidity over extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging setting.
- Daily exposure to allergens, including cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or relevant certification in horticulture, plant science, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in plant maintenance or cultivation is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of cannabis cultivation techniques and industry regulations is a plus.
