The Environmental Services Technician II embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine. This role requires adherence to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, alongside compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory and accreditation standards.
This is a casual position, meaning that hours per week are not guaranteed.
Flexibility to pick up shifts based on business needs is required.
Availability needed: Every Saturday and Sunday during the day shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly cleans and maintains patient rooms, offices, public areas, treatment rooms, and other assigned locations daily, including trash collection, bed linen changes, and surface sanitization.
- Adheres to policies and procedures regarding patient isolation and contact precautions as necessary.
- Stocks paper goods and other supplies in designated areas as needed.
- Maintains cleanliness and functionality of carts and equipment, ensuring proper storage.
- Promotes workplace safety by utilizing wet floor signs, personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensuring housekeeping supplies are attended to.
- Uses cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively, in accordance with established protocols.
- Informs the supervisor of any equipment requiring repair and reports safety hazards immediately.
- Effectively communicates with supervisors regarding any issues, including schedule completion and proactively addresses observed deficiencies.
- Builds and maintains positive interpersonal relationships with hospital personnel while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Demonstrates the ability to deliver the scripted service model effectively to every customer.
- Utilizes departmental resources efficiently.
- Manages work schedule effectively, ensuring timely completion of tasks and assignments.
- Engages in opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Contributes to cost reduction efforts, streamlined work processes, and enhanced service delivery.
