This role involves a registered professional nurse responsible for comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. As part of the clinical team, the Registered Nurse engages in decision-making and quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises patient care delivered by support staff during a designated shift and identifies changes in patients' physiological conditions.
- Effectively communicates patient status to the multidisciplinary team.
- Engages with patients and their families regarding nursing care.
- Provides clinical interventions tailored to patient needs.
- Thoroughly documents the nursing process.
- Integrates information from various sources to implement a safe and effective care plan.
- Ensures the safety and security of patients, their families, and staff members.
Clinical Duties:
- Exhibits clinical proficiency.
- Delivers direct patient care.
- Oversees patient care provided by support staff for a specific shift.
- Conducts ongoing assessments of patients and their families' biopsychosocial and learning needs.
- Collaborates with the patient care coordinator to contribute to the care plan as appropriate.
- Implements necessary actions to respond effectively to patient needs.
- Monitors and records patient responses to therapeutic interventions and progress toward outcomes.
- Demonstrates a cost-effective approach to patient care concerning resources and equipment.
- Adheres to established policies, procedures, and standards of care in all practice areas.
