Join Our Team as a Casual School Bus Driver in Woodstock!
Voyago is excited to announce that we are in search of dedicated casual school bus drivers to join our team in Woodstock. This role is essential in providing coverage for existing routes while also assisting with potential future opportunities!
Your Responsibilities:
- Safely transport students to and from school, ensuring a dependable and positive experience every day.
- Always prioritize student safety, especially during boarding, transit, and exiting the vehicle.
- Perform comprehensive pre- and post-trip inspections to confirm the bus is in optimal operating condition.
- Keep the bus clean and well-maintained, including assisting with fueling and basic upkeep to maintain a professional appearance.
- Complete daily Hours of Service reports accurately and maintain necessary documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Promptly report any mechanical issues or concerns related to vehicle safety.
- Address and report any student behavior issues professionally and in accordance with company protocols.
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated with safety practices, policies, and regulations.
- Exhibit professionalism, patience, and care while fostering a safe and respectful environment for all passengers.
- This position is unionized.
Requirements
Your Profile:
- You are committed to safety.
- You possess a valid full G class driver’s license for at least one year (E or B class drivers preferred).
- You are at least 21 years old.
- You are a safe driver with a clean driving record.
- You can provide a clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.
- You have a solid understanding of Woodstock and surrounding areas.
- You can work independently.
- You are available for required shifts: Monday to Friday between 6:00 AM - 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM (specific start and end times will vary based on route details).
- You possess strong communication skills.
- You are comfortable driving in various weather and road conditions.
- You are capable of driving larger vehicles.
- You have basic technology skills, including the use of Google Maps or GPS devices.
Route Information:
- We are currently seeking casual drivers to provide coverage for sick calls or when other drivers are on scheduled time off. This will be a casual role until a permanent route becomes available in your area. Applicants must be willing to operate various school-purpose vehicles.
