About the job
We are looking for a highly skilled and resilient professional to oversee our CECL and IFRS 9 provisioning framework as part of the Integrated Risk Management team. This key role is vital for our IPO preparedness and the integrity of our financial reporting. The successful candidate will take ownership of and continuously enhance the complete impairment provisioning process in alignment with both US GAAP (CECL) and IFRS 9 standards, ensuring our financial statements remain robust, transparent, and ready for audits.
This role involves close collaboration with Finance and Risk teams to guarantee the accuracy, defensibility, and clear communication of one of the company’s most significant accounting estimates. Your contributions will directly bolster investor confidence and the company’s readiness for public reporting.
As we advance towards IPO readiness, you will play a crucial role in upholding the company’s financial integrity alongside a world-class team of finance, risk, and data professionals in a dynamic, high-impact environment.
Key Challenges You Will Face:
- Lead the calculation and planning of the Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) under CECL and IFRS 9, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with accounting and regulatory standards.
- Serve as the primary contact for all audit and regulatory reviews related to impairment provisioning; effectively communicate methodologies, assumptions, and results to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and continuously refine our methodological framework to ensure that processes are data-driven, transparent, and well-documented.
- Collaborate with IT and Internal Controls teams to design, implement, document, and manage key financial controls that support the COSO-compliant impairment process.
- Lead the CECL/IFRS 9 Governance Committee by preparing materials, presenting results, and ensuring that key decisions and approvals are formally documented.
- Support Financial Reporting by providing essential data, disclosures, and narratives (e.g., MD&A, 10-K, S-1).
