The NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC) is on the lookout for a Chief of Field Auditing to spearhead the construction safety auditing program within the Office of Construction Safety (OCS). This pivotal role reports directly to the Deputy Director and encompasses overseeing the safety auditing program to ensure optimal implementation and enforcement of all DDC safety policies across capital construction projects.
Key responsibilities include supervising Safety Auditors during field audits and compliance reviews, identifying and addressing unsafe site conditions and practices at active construction sites, coordinating with the Code Compliance and Accident Investigations Units, preparing and managing weekly audit schedules, reviewing and distributing audit reports, prioritizing high-risk construction projects, analyzing ScoreCard Plus data to track trends and safety deviations, developing auditing tools, metrics, and safety policies, and fostering a proactive safety culture across DDC divisions. The Chief will also represent OCS at pre-construction and progress meetings, ensuring that safety risks are identified and corrective actions are implemented in accordance with DDC and regulatory requirements.
