The New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) is actively seeking a driven and dynamic individual to join our team as Chief of Staff. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Commissioner and serve as a vital member of the senior leadership team, tasked with prioritizing and coordinating various initiatives. Your responsibilities will include managing the flow of information, ensuring effective oversight on a range of policy, operational, strategic, and budgetary projects, and playing an integral role in shaping the agency's strategic direction and decision-making processes.
As Chief of Staff, you will facilitate the Commissioner’s daily activities, overseeing the work of the Executive Assistant, Deputy Chief of Staff, and Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff. You will collaborate with Divisional Chiefs of Staff to foster synergy across the agency and act as a crucial liaison to City Hall. Your role will involve preparing high-level memos, presentations, and reports, as well as responding to inquiries and information requests. Establishing and maintaining relationships with DOT’s sister agencies and external stakeholders will also be key to your success.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with the Commissioner and Deputy Chief of Staff to develop and implement a strategic vision for the agency.
- Working closely with Deputy Commissioners and division heads to address issues and provide timely information to the Commissioner and City Hall.
- Organizing and prioritizing critical issues to facilitate efficient decision-making.
- Acting as a primary point of contact between the Commissioner and stakeholders, providing guidance on high-importance projects.
- Serving as an advisor to the Commissioner and the senior management team.
