About the job
Join us at flatgigs, a pioneering climate-tech organization dedicated to creating an integrated ecosystem of water solutions. Our mission is to generate, conserve, and optimize water resources for agriculture, industry, and environmental restoration in regions facing water scarcity. Central to our innovations is our cutting-edge Atmospheric Water Harvesting (AWH) technology, which underpins decentralized and energy-efficient water harvesting systems.
We take pride in our holistic approach that merges advanced engineering, thermodynamics, materials science, and system-level design. As we scale our ecosystem over time, the AWH technology will remain our keystone, and as CTO / Co-Founder, you'll spearhead its advancement from initial research and development through to commercial implementation and field deployment.
Role Overview
As the CTO / Co-Founder, you will be responsible for shaping the technical vision, system architecture, and product development of our AWH technology, guiding it from concept to prototype, pilot, and commercialization. You will closely collaborate with the founding team to establish the technology roadmap, design and test systems, and lead R&D initiatives with a strong focus on execution.
This is a hands-on role where you will engage in designing, building, testing, and refining solutions rather than merely overseeing tasks from a distance.
Key Responsibilities
· Define and guide the technical vision and architecture for AWH systems.
· Design and develop mechanical and thermal systems.
· Transition products from concept to prototype, pilot, and commercial deployment.
· Lead hands-on R&D, conducting experimentation, testing, and performance optimization.
· Enhance system efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
· Oversee prototyping, validation, and field-testing processes.
· Contribute to IP strategy, including patent drafting and technical documentation.
· Build and eventually lead a technical team comprising engineers, researchers, and technicians.
· Collaborate with partners, suppliers, and research institutions.
· Provide substantial technical insights to support fundraising and investor discussions.
