AECOM Canada is eager to welcome a skilled Project Engineer to our Halifax office. This position presents a fantastic opportunity for an intermediate-level Municipal Engineer with a solid background in design and construction, eager to broaden their responsibilities and expertise. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a successful history in design, design reviews, proposal writing, report writing, and client relations, coupled with the passion to enhance and develop a municipal design team. This role primarily focuses on supporting the delivery of essential infrastructure projects within the municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater sectors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading existing municipal technical design personnel on projects such as:
- Sewer and watermain design, replacement, and reconstruction,
- Roadway and intersection enhancements,
- Site servicing design,
- Designing potable water pumping, transmission, storage, and distribution systems,
- Managing sanitary drainage and pumping systems,
- Maintaining strong client relationships and effective communication,
- Preparing documentation for current and future projects, including correspondence, reports, proposals, expressions of interest, and specifications,
- Executing Contract Administration duties, including contractor engagement, progress payment certifications, and organizing progress site meetings,
- Collaborating with project team members in Halifax and other regional offices to ensure high-quality service delivery on projects of varying complexity,
- Contributing to new business development initiatives,
- Liaising with and assisting other departments and offices to provide design services to diverse clients, as needed,
- Overseeing financial and budget controls on projects,
- Addressing inquiries from contractors and the public.
