About the job
As a Case Manager I in Claims Management, you will spearhead investigations into claims by conducting thorough medical and legal assessments, engaging field investigators, reconstruction specialists, and cause and origin experts to ascertain the origins of claims. You will manage media exposure during investigations, synthesize information from external legal counsel, and meticulously document all information in our claims management system.
Your role involves overseeing the financial aspects of assigned claims, which includes establishing reserves within set approval levels, informing store managers of significant reserve fluctuations, monitoring reserves for open claims, and facilitating claim payments or denials as necessary. You will reserve files for payments that require higher authority and serious case reviews.
To minimize legal exposure, you will coordinate with external legal counsel, participate in arbitration sessions, audit and process invoices for outside counsel, and evaluate the potential impact of claims on case law and legal precedents before proceeding with payments or settlements.
You will manage moderately complex cases involving alleged bodily injuries, personal injuries, and property damage by interviewing witnesses, collecting evidence, analyzing legal statutes, and interpreting medical reports to determine liability and payment eligibility. Additionally, you will handle multiple claims arising from a single event when needed.
Your responsibilities will include negotiating with customers, their attorneys, or third parties to reach resolutions by sharing investigative findings, addressing claimant concerns, and fostering consensus on final resolutions.
In this role, you will coordinate and oversee various job-related activities by building strong relationships with key stakeholders, supporting business initiatives, setting clear objectives, and promoting an environment of continuous improvement and accountability.
You will also play a critical role in developing your team members through hiring, training, mentoring, and fostering a culture of recognition and belonging within the workplace.
Compliance with company policies and ethical standards is paramount; you will implement action plans to uphold our values and guide others in navigating these principles in their business practices.
