Role Overview:
The Clinical Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing patient care through effective education and support for physicians and their staff. This position involves proctoring surgical cases to ensure excellence and independently managing CVAC procedures. The Clinical Specialist will closely collaborate with the surgical team, offering expert assistance with surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment. Key responsibilities include training surgical teams on instrument preparation and maintaining inventory management, along with fulfilling essential administrative duties. Please note, this position is not intended as a stepping stone to a Territory Sales Manager role.
Successful candidates will reside within the designated geographical area and may cover CVAC cases across the territory, region, or even nationally as required. Additionally, the Clinical Specialist will provide clinical support for physician and sales training initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clinical case coverage as assigned.
- Train surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and provide verbal support during training periods.
- Stay up-to-date with perioperative surgical technology practices and hospital policies.
- Cultivate technical expertise to serve as a valuable educational resource.
- Foster effective interactions with all hospital service providers.
- Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and kits, including conducting Quality Control audits.
- Troubleshoot equipment as per standard procedures.
- Offer intra-operative clinical product support.
- Ensure inventory accuracy by reconciling received and returned items with shipping documents.
- Manage and report on inventory usage, including addressing discrepancies.
