Join Our Team as a CNC Machine Shop Operator
We are on the lookout for a skilled Machine Shop Operator to become an integral part of our dynamic team in Lafayette, IN. In this role, you will operate cutting-edge CNC machines, conduct thorough quality inspections, and assist in various shop operations. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a multi-tasking environment and are dedicated to producing precision-engineered components that adhere to specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute production tasks, quality assessments, and maintain a clean work environment.
- Set up and operate CNC machines, as well as handle wash tanks and forklifts for material movement.
- Perform quality checks utilizing gauges, rules, calipers, and other measurement tools.
- Troubleshoot routine manufacturing challenges effectively.
- Exhibit flexibility by transitioning between various machines based on operational needs.
Essential Skills
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setting, particularly with machinery.
- Proficiency in operating CNC machines is highly advantageous.
- Solid understanding of quality measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, and dial bores.
- Ability to operate both sit-down and stand-up forklifts competently.
- Strong mathematical skills, particularly in addition and subtraction for gauge readings.
Additional Desired Skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Experience in conducting quality inspections on finished products.
- Familiarity with deburring processes.
Shift Availability & Compensation
- 1st Shift: 7am-3pm (Monday - Friday) // $24.47/hour
- 2nd Shift: 3pm-11pm (Monday - Friday) // $25.33/hour
- 3rd Shift: 11pm-7am (Sunday - Thursday) // $25.33/hour
- Alternate Schedule Options Available:
- 7pm-7am (Monday - Wednesday) // $25.33/hour
- 7am-7pm (Monday - Wednesday) // $24.47/hour
- 7pm-7am (Thursday - Saturday) // $25.33/hour
- 7am-7pm (Thursday - Saturday) // $24.47/hour
- Work 36 hours total, paid for 36 unless additional hours extend to 40.
