Your Role
We are looking for an experienced Colocation Site Selection Manager to spearhead our procurement strategy for data centers across the United States. In this key role, you will be tasked with identifying and assessing colocation opportunities at powered land sites that are conducive to large-scale data center development. You will negotiate lease agreements with Colocation Providers and Data Center Operators.
With an existing portfolio exceeding 600MW in colocation data center assets, our goal is to expand to a multi-GW scale within the next year. Your expertise will be crucial to our success, and you will collaborate closely with our data center team to ensure that colocation sites meet the scale and design requirements of our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough site due diligence to evaluate colocation-ready powered land and development sites, including:
- Assessing the robustness of utility and behind-the-meter power solutions at 200MW+ scale.
- Evaluating the buildability of land parcels through title documentation, land surveys, geotechnical reports, and environmental studies.
- Understanding permitting requirements for each colocation site and their impact on our construction timelines.
- Foster relationships with colocation providers, brokers, landowners, and developers to ensure no viable site is overlooked.
- Perform vendor due diligence, including on-site audits with specialist engineers.
- Collaborate with our DC Design team to guarantee that colocation sites align with our latest technical specifications.
- Manage capacity planning and forecasting across all clients and regions to ensure colocation capacity is available for both existing and new projects.
