Tayco is seeking a driven and innovative individual to become a vital member of our expanding Commercial Space Design Team located in Etobicoke. POSITION SUMMARY
The Commercial Space Designer will provide tailored design solutions, product recommendations, and accurate pricing information promptly. This role collaborates closely with the sales team to nurture existing client relationships and build new ones, ultimately driving sales growth and enhancing customer satisfaction.
This is a contract position anticipated to last approximately 14 months, with an ideal start date of March 23, 2026.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of Tayco’s product offerings to facilitate the order process effectively.
- Enhance sales and customer satisfaction through the quotation process, averaging around 90 quotes per month while managing half a designated territory.
- Engage with customers to collect project details, specifications, and requirements to propose suitable products or solutions.
- Prioritize quotation requests based on dealer tiers established by the sales team and customer deadlines.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings, colored renderings, and parts lists based on gathered information.
- Filter special requests through the Engineering Decision Tree, consulting the Engineering department for custom requests as needed.
- Review and verify the accuracy of drawings and parts lists.
- Acquire material up-charge information from purchasing or engineering when necessary.
- Present customers with final drawings, pricing, and all pertinent project information.
- Proactively recommend additional items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase transaction profitability.
- Drive sales growth and average order size through cross-selling, up-selling, and promotional offerings.
- Educate customers on product terminology, features, and benefits to improve sales and satisfaction.
- Coordinate with Customer Service and Order Analysts to ensure a seamless transition from quote to order.
- Support team members by covering orders and territories in their absence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
