About the job
The selected candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from $62,868 to $76,509.00.
The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) is dedicated to safeguarding and enhancing the welfare of children and families through comprehensive child welfare, juvenile justice services, and community support initiatives. ACS supervises community-based support systems, foster care services, and subsidized child care vouchers. Our child protection staff actively respond to reports of child maltreatment while overseeing juvenile justice programs, placements, and detention services for youth in the community.
The Division of Child and Family Well-Being (CFWB) is committed to ensuring that families and children have the essential supports they need to flourish and make independent choices. CFWB harnesses tangible resources, stakeholder relationships, and community strengths to advance social equity and justice, address disparities in the child welfare system, and cultivate environments that promote well-being for families and children throughout New York City. Our initiatives encompass child care support, caregiver assistance to prevent child injury, and investments in community-driven approaches.
Through the Office of Community Engagement and Partnerships (OCEP), CFWB collaborates with eleven Community Partnerships, which have been operational since 2007. These partnerships are local coalitions comprising service providers, community leaders, residents, and faith-based organizations that work collectively to reinforce community ties. Members share resources and insights, create community engagement programs, and help families navigate available neighborhood resources such as housing, food, child care, mental health services, and more.
Community Partnerships are managed by non-profit organizations, which facilitate direct support for children, youth, and families. This includes assistance with paperwork, distributing school supplies, free tickets to cultural and sporting events, food, and clothing. They utilize various communication methods, including newsletters, social media, and public outreach, to inform families about available assistance. These efforts aim to: 1) connect service providers to minimize redundancy and improve communication; 2) enhance family awareness and use of resources; and 3) promote equity.
The Community Program Manager will play a pivotal role in driving these initiatives forward, ensuring effective collaboration and resource distribution to empower our communities.
