As an Admissions Nurse at VITAS, you will serve as a compassionate conduit between hospital or community care and the solace of hospice. You will assist patients and families through one of life’s most pivotal transitions with clarity, empathy, and assurance.

Your Responsibilities
- Perform thorough clinical assessments to establish hospice eligibility
- Inform patients and families about hospice services and Medicare benefits
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Offer emotional support and clinical advice throughout the decision-making journey
- Initiate and finalize the admission process, including necessary documentation and coordination
Your Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with an active state license
- At least 2 years of nursing experience (hospice, palliative care, ER, ICU, home health, or case management preferred)
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
- Empathetic communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills
- Active listener who fosters trust and rapport
- Confident in aiding others through uncertainty, addressing concerns with compassion
- Dependable professional with strong follow-through and independence
- Patient-centered advocate dedicated to dignity and comfort
