About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. Under the direct supervision of the Vaccine Administration Manager, you will play a key role in administering vaccines across all age groups, with a strong focus on pediatric care. Prior experience in a hospital or physician's office is preferred.
Main Responsibilities:
- Review medical records for vaccination orders and communicate with the ordering provider regarding any concerns.
- Retrieve and verify the correct vaccinations from storage, ensuring dose accuracy.
- Accurately identify patients in the exam room using their name and date of birth.
- Administer vaccines as per orders and maintain compliance with OSHA guidelines for medical waste disposal.
- Document vaccine details, including type, manufacturer, lot number, and administration site in the EHR system.
- Provide the most current Vaccination Information Sheet (VIS) to patients or guardians.
- Update VIS as directed by the CDC and share updates with Medical Assistants at satellite sites.
- Generate lists of required vaccines from the CIR and coordinate with Front Desk staff for patient recalls.
- Maintain accurate CIR records and scan vaccine documents into the EMR.
- Monitor and record refrigerator and freezer temperatures daily, adhering to compliance protocols.
- Assist Medical Assistants at satellite locations and perform compliance checks as necessary.
- Compile Excursion Incident reports with Shelter site staff and coordinate with manufacturers.
- Conduct monthly inventory of vaccinations and manage medication storage for expired items.
- Electronically report expired or spoiled vaccines and manage their proper disposal.
- Keep EMR updated with newly received vaccine information.
