Job Summary
As a Conflicts Attorney, you will play a crucial role in the evaluation and analysis of conflicts of interest related to the firm's acceptance of new clients and matters, as well as the onboarding of lateral attorneys. You will collaborate closely with senior members of the Conflicts Department and the General Counsel’s Office to ensure compliance and approval for new engagements. This position also includes additional responsibilities assigned by the General Counsel’s Office and firm administration as necessary.
This position is scheduled according to West Coast business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough analyses of conflict of interest reports for all new representations and lateral attorney hires to identify potential issues.
- Resolve conflicts of interest by securing necessary waivers and drafting ethics wall memos to facilitate the firm's clearance of new clients, matters, and lateral attorneys.
- Review information accompanying new matter requests for adherence to firm policies and applicable professional responsibility rules, and ensure draft engagement letters comply with these standards.
- Execute additional duties as assigned.
