The Transportation and Public Works Department's Capital Delivery Division is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to enhance our construction services team. This role involves overseeing the construction phase of various projects, including roadway and sidewalk paving, drainage and bridge construction, safety improvements, and public park enhancements.
The Construction Manager will supervise multiple project budgets and schedules while leading a team of inspection and surveying staff. This position necessitates ensuring high-quality construction inspections, supporting staff training, and implementing effective policies and procedures. Responsibilities include setting strategic goals, monitoring work activities, and recommending improvements to standards and processes.
The ideal candidate will possess robust management and construction experience, the ability to interpret construction drawings, familiarity with city guidelines, and the capability to perform constructability reviews while working independently under the guidance of the Senior Capital Project Officer.
