The position is based in Pomona, California, with a hybrid-remote work model (Tuesday and Wednesday in the office/field).
- Engage in initial field assessments to evaluate project alternatives with Transmission Engineering and Environmental teams, offering insights on construction viability.
- Uphold a balanced approach to construction design, considering engineering requirements, construction practicality, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Perform field reviews as necessary to devise a comprehensive plan for all essential construction activities supporting the selected project alternative.
- Draft a detailed construction narrative that aligns with the Engineering scope, outlining all construction activities alongside personnel and duration estimates.
- Create a Google Earth map set detailing all construction areas, collaborate with the Project Team, and submit the map set to the GIS team for processing.
- Compile a list of necessary project permits.
- Assist in entering project data into EHSync and address data requests from Environmental, Real Properties, and Government Lands teams.
- Contribute to the Project Execution Strategy review with the Project Team and local Grid to identify the Responsible Party for Construction, leveraging your professional insights based on available skills and resources.
- Support Grid resources to ensure work complies with the TLRR Program Plan.
- Consult and negotiate with the GCC to formulate a preliminary construction schedule and initial outage requests.
- Participate in developing specifications and scopes of work to facilitate the bidding process for contracted project tasks.
- Support the bid process by attending job walks and bid conferences, addressing technical inquiries, and engaging in the bid review and selection process.
- Participate in the project construction kickoff meeting to establish performance expectations.
- Attend regular construction meetings to provide subject matter expertise and relay progress reports to the Project Manager.
- Meet with Contractors as necessary to address and rectify performance issues.
- Review and offer feedback on project QA/QC documentation.
- Assist with Final Acceptance and Project Closeout as required.
