Join our dynamic Health Sciences practice as a Consulting Epidemiologist at J.S. Held. We are looking for an enthusiastic recent graduate with a PhD, ScD, or DrPH in Epidemiology from a reputable, research-focused institution. This position is ideal for candidates who have some experience in consulting—whether through internships, assistantships, or analyst roles.
As a Consulting Epidemiologist, you will enhance your technical and applied consulting expertise under the guidance of seasoned principal epidemiologists, including experts with extensive experience in academia and regulatory/litigation contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in epidemiological analyses for various projects in environmental, occupational, regulatory, and health sciences.
- Conduct thorough literature reviews, provide support in protocol development, manage data, and perform statistical analyses using software such as R, SAS, Stata, SPSS, or Python.
- Draft essential sections of reports, research summaries, and deliverables for clients.
- Support exposure assessments, causation analysis research, and structured frameworks for litigation and regulatory matters (in a supporting, non-testifying role).
- Engage in project meetings, manage smaller tasks/workstreams, and contribute to quality assurance and documentation.
- Advance your understanding of core consulting skills, including client communication, budgeting exposure, and workflow management.
- Collaborate across disciplines to gain knowledge in toxicology, exposure science, industrial hygiene, and risk assessment through multidisciplinary projects.
