Radiation Therapist
Join our dedicated team at 5 Star Recruitment as a Contract Radiation Therapist in Merriam, Kansas. Reporting to the Chief Radiation Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and high-quality proton therapy treatments and CT simulations for our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer safe, precise, and efficient proton radiation therapy treatments as per the prescribed protocols from the Radiation Oncologist.
- Deliver exceptional patient care by adhering to departmental procedures.
- Clearly explain treatment processes to patients and their families, addressing inquiries and directing medical questions appropriately.
- Review patient histories and diagnoses to ensure thorough documentation of treatments.
- Accurately record treatment data in oncology records and validate system information.
- Coordinate patient treatment schedules and provide education on treatment procedures to ensure understanding.
- Conduct CT simulations on a rotation while maintaining safety awareness in MRI zones.
- Capture and assess digital portal images for quality and accuracy, utilizing immobilization devices as necessary.
- Perform basic dosimetry tasks as needed for simulation data collection and documentation.
- Support quality control measures in line with facility standards.
- Effectively communicate any challenges to the Chief Radiation Therapist in a timely manner.
- Foster positive relationships with patients, providers, management, staff, and the public.
- Complete basic radiation and MRI safety training successfully.
- Assist with operational efficiency by performing additional duties as directed by the Chief or Lead Radiation Therapist.
