Position Overview
Join a prominent, independent firm located in Dartford as a Contracts Executive. This role is pivotal in supporting the organization through the comprehensive review, coordination, and management of various commercial contracts.
As a Contracts Executive, your responsibilities will include assessing contractual terms, identifying potential risks, facilitating negotiations, and ensuring that agreements are properly documented, tracked, and finalized. You will escalate complex legal issues and high-risk situations to senior management as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Review & Management
- Analyze and provide feedback on a diverse range of commercial agreements, such as:
- Exclusivity agreements
- Supply contracts
- Non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)
- Framework agreements
- Rebate contracts
- Lease agreements
- Customer and supplier terms
- Data Processing Agreements
- Major contractor agreements (including Tier 1 contractors)
- Identify and highlight critical commercial and contractual risks to senior management when necessary.
- Modify agreements using approved templates and standardized positions.
- Ensure all contracts adhere to company policies and risk management guidelines.
Tender & Commercial Support
- Evaluate contractual terms within large tender submissions.
- Assist commercial teams by identifying risk areas and proposing practical amendments.
- Help prepare contract summaries for internal stakeholders.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary contact for various business teams regarding contract inquiries.
- Coordinate negotiations with customers and suppliers through emails and calls.
- Escalate complex, high-value, or high-risk matters to senior legal personnel.
- Collaborate with senior legal teams to finalize contracts for external distribution.
Process & Administration
- Maintain a comprehensive log of all contracts within the internal register.
- Track progress and follow up on outstanding actions.
- Prepare finalized versions of agreements for execution.
- Support weekly contract review meetings.
- Organize and maintain contract records and documentation.
- Provide general administrative support, including data entry, document preparation, and additional tasks to assist wider teams.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in reviewing or managing commercial contracts.
- Strong understanding of key commercial and contractual principles.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders at all levels.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
