Position Overview: We are in search of a highly skilled Controller who will serve as a Senior Finance Leader, managing our accounting function and financial close. This pivotal role demands precision, accountability, and scalability in our rapidly growing multi-channel consumer and CPG business. You will be instrumental in fortifying our financial discipline and propelling the company into its next growth phase.
This leader should possess strong technical accounting expertise, preferably acquired in a public or public-company-ready setting, complemented by sound operational judgment and a collaborative approach. You will work closely with finance leadership, FP&A, Data & Analytics, operations, and external advisors to deliver accurate financial reporting and continuously enhance business operations.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes to ensure precise financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Safeguard the integrity of financial statements while consistently enhancing close cadence, documentation, and internal controls as the business expands.
- Develop and uphold accounting policies, procedures, and controls aligned with public company standards.
- Lead audit readiness and manage relationships with external auditors and accounting advisors.
- Oversee accounting for inventory, cost of goods sold, and gross margin within a complex, multi-channel consumer and CPG operating framework.
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams on inventory valuation, reserves, obsolescence, and demand variability.
- Manage revenue recognition across DTC, retail, wholesale, and partnership channels, including discounts, allowances, returns, and contra-revenue.
- Work closely with FP&A and Data & Analytics to ensure consistency between accounting results and management reporting.
- Drive the evolution of accounting systems, processes, and tools, including ERP enhancements and automation of the close process.
